I guess I've done some of that but haven't really thought about it explicitly. Thanks.

I'll try to blog about some of the activities.Dave Lanovazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09010742221812029616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2205963398207045749.post-12954521792419749172016-09-11T14:54:15.771-04:002016-09-11T14:54:15.771-04:00Thank you for sharing this post. It is very poignant.

The good news is that as the this generation of CCSS students move up to the high school level, they will know nothing except dynamic group convos, be self-reliant mathematicians and expect an engaging experience!

I go for the You, We, Me model. You explore it. We talk about it, I summarize it in the general problem solving sense.

PS Tell us more about your first week activities!!Amy zimmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09960137549431994944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2205963398207045749.post-30784879241736228202016-09-11T13:28:23.408-04:002016-09-11T13:28:23.408-04:00Hi Helene.

I like the idea of having students identify efficient methods and looking back can be so useful.

Thanks for the comment.Dave Lanovazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09010742221812029616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2205963398207045749.post-28799916303898666352016-09-11T13:20:22.426-04:002016-09-11T13:20:22.426-04:00You're right Doug. I'm struggling in a different way I think. When to give those notes? I too, am wanting to highlight the processes. I want my Ss to be able to identify them. After a few problems, I attempted to have Ss identify what was efficient or not in representing a visual pattern with a table of values or where the reasoning was in Andrew Stadels file cabinet problem. Ss are also well trained at having as a goal getting an answer and not looking back at what help us get to the answer. Good luck with week 2.Helene Mattenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2205963398207045749.post-21897190803115603492016-09-09T09:49:12.929-04:002016-09-09T09:49:12.929-04:00Taking notes is a lot easier.
